Neighbourhood Plan

REFERENDUM - THURSDAY 24th OCTOBER 2024

The question which will be asked in the referendum is: "Do you want BCP Council to use the Hurn Neighbourhood Plan to help it decide planning application in the neighbourhood area?"

The Hurn Neighbourhood Plan can be viewed here - Hurn Neighbourhood Plan

Details of the Referendum and Plan are also available on the  BCP Council website.

This Plan is specifically for Hurn.  The Parish Map can be viewed here - Hurn Parish Neighbourhood Area Map. This is a Statutory Development Plan and any decisions made by BCP Council on planning applications within the Parish will need to have regard to the policies within our Neighbourhood Plan.  It is very important for the future of Hurn as it will give the Parish more control over planning decision making, which is not available at present.

The Plan has 7 Policies and 5 Projects.  A brief summary of each of the main policies are summarised here -  Neighbourhood Plan Policies  - they can be viewed in full within the Plan. The vision is "To retain, protect and reinforce Hurn's rural character as a place where people can live and work peacefully and enjoy the wonderful surrounding countryside".

For any queries please contact the Parish Chairman - hurnparish@fillybrookfarm.co.uk.

Please vote on the 24th of October -  a simple majority of acceptance will give the Parish more control over its future.
