Hurn Parish Neighbourhood Plan

REFERENDUM RESULTS

On 24th October 2024 a Referendum was held.  All Hurn residents eligible to vote were asked: "Do you want BCP Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Hurn to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?" A simple majority of acceptance was required and this was achieved with a result of 89.63% in favour and a turnout of 23.23%.  The official Declaration of the result can be found HERE.

Once approved by full BCP Council in December 2024, the Neighbourhood Plan will become part of the statutory development plan for the area.  This statutory status will give the Plan weight in the BCP planning process and its policies must be taken into account when planning decisions are made in Hurn Parish.

The Hurn Neighbourhood Plan can be viewed here - Hurn Neighbourhood PlanThe vision is "To retain, protect and reinforce Hurn's rural character as a place where people can live and work peacefully and enjoy the wonderful surrounding countryside".  This Plan is specifically for Hurn.  The Parish Map can be viewed here - Hurn Parish Neighbourhood Area Map
